    What lurks beneath..

Prescription for Sorrow – many congratulations to Dr Patrick Hahn

    Antidepressants, Suicide and Violence

We need books like this more than ever –

Readers will be askance at the trial of Michelle Carter and good for Patrick for including this in his book – I followed this story as it played out as detail upon extraordinary detail was dissected at length – I am certain that Patrick will do it justice

And that he will do justice to so many sorrows from prescriptions that need egging-out and brought to the attention of prescribers and patients alike – I think we are in for a treat

    • Yes Annie, We do need books like this more than ever.

Delighted to find that it has just safely arrived on my Kindle.
What a fantastic asset Samizdat has become for the increasingly well informed, rapidly expanding number of us who have suffered as a result of akathisia ignorance, and its misdiagnosis, alongside those enduring PSSD and those who are no longer with us.

Reading the comments and reviews on ‘Prescription For Sorrow’ brought the following words to mind:

“I believe the SSRI era will stand as one of the most shameful in the history of medicine”.

With so many people currently struggling with pandemic-related mental health issues, I’ve added a presentation titled “Preventing Another Opioid Crisis” to KnowYourDrugs.org that could help prevent SSRI-induced violence and suicides during this challenging time. It provides insight into the fraudulent concealment of negative clinical trial data by pharmaceutical companies and how they falsely promoted the chemical imbalance theory of depression. For now, I’m delivering the presentation virtually, with plans for a cross-Canada tour starting in Halifax sometime next spring.

Dr. David Healy, psychiatrist, psychopharmacologist and professor. Wales, UK – “There was almost nothing to indicate the hazards to a person like David Carmichael or to his doctor. Quite the contrary, there was a vigorous campaign to hide the risks and avoid warning doctors of the need to monitor patients and to avoid alerting patients to the need to be monitored. My opinion is that Paxil can cause even perfectly normal people to become homicidal. It is also my opinion that but for his intake of Paxil Mr. Carmichael would not have killed his son, Ian.” (June 2018 report on fraudulent concealment for my lawsuit against GSK)

On 09/21/1991, an #FDA panel ruled #Prozac did not cause #suicide or #violence. 5 of 9 panel members had received waivers allowing them to participate despite their ties to the drugmakers.

MISSD was pleased to help educate doctors about akathisia and related adverse drug effects that can precipitate medication-induced “suicide.” This presentation was at RCP’s International Congress in London.

Isn’t it somewhat vulgar, that Wendy Dolin and Kristina Kaiser Gehrki, with the dignity of saints, give their presentations, honouring late husband and daughter, and then, find themselves, fatally let down by an institution that has no interest or conscience

I just finished reading PRESCRIPTION FOR SORROW: Antidepressants, Suicide and Violence by

      Patrick D Hahn

This book provides great insight into the history of antidepressants and how they might be doing more harm than good. He shares several tragic stories, including my own, which could have been prevented if pharmaceutical companies had told the truth about lethal reactions to antidepressants that were discovered during clinical trials. It’s a compelling and incredibly well written book. Well worth reading.

Sorrow – dreams, and recollections, and lovely conversations from some familiar faces ..

“I also want to thank you for using the correct word “Prescripticide” to refer to our children’s poison-induced demise. My child’s death was not a “suicide” in the traditional sense of that word, nor will it ever be.”

  4. .A terribly sad title for a terrible outrage against humanity :Patrick Hahn leaves no stone unturned in his search
for the truth and the guilty parties.”

One of the guilty parties is undeniably the MHRA. Recently they have been wheeled out by politicians to ‘reassure’ the UK population that ‘no stone is left unturned’ to ensure the safety and efficacy of the Covid vaccines. They state they are independant and rely on data from the pharma companies. A few more stones need unturning. Faucci chief medic in USA had to very quickly retract his criticism on TV news of the speed with which MHRA has given aproval for the vaccine being prescibed this week. The Eu made the same criticisms . Faucci has been bigged up as the one not afraid to speak out – hmmm Independant news from BBC..hmmm

    Dear Editor
JK Anand refers to the MHRA as an “independent body” [1] and while this is being frequently stated at the moment it is in reality an agency of the Department of Health and Social Care [2] and the work of its pharmaceutical licensing division is 100% paid for by the industry [3]. (By the way Dr J K Anand has been one of the rare critics of what get published in thebmj for many years – referrs to himself as ‘free spirit’)

It should be added that in 2005 the House of Commons Health Committee produced a report censuring the DH and the MHRA for being too close the industry and I have heard of no attempts since then to remedy this. The report ‘The Influence of the Pharmaceutical Industry’ stated ( p. 3&4) [4].

“”The Department of Health has for too long optimistically assumed that the interests of health and of the industry are as one. This may reflect the fact that the Department sponsors the industry as well as looking after health. ..The MHRA Chairman stated that trust was integral to effective regulation, but trust, while convenient, may mean that the regulatory process is not strict enough. The organisation has been too close to the industry, a closeness underpinned by common policy objectives, agreed processes, frequent contact, consultation and interchange of staff. We are concerned that a rather lax regime is exacerbated by the MHRA’s need to compete with other European regulators for licence application business…””

Competing interests: AgeofAutism.com, an on-line daily journal, concerns itself with the potential environmental sources for the proliferation of autism, neurological impairment, immune dysfunction and chronic disease.
