Neither davidhealy.org nor RxISK.org are clinics. They are places where you can contribute examples of what drugs have done to you, things you have found out about them, and your thoughts on a medical system that doesn’t listen to its ‘consumers’.
Twitter, Facebook and Contact Us are good ways to establish contact if there are things you can offer. Even if you have no background in healthcare, your motivation can be worth more than the expertise of those involved in the ‘business’.
Over time, however, as RxISK has tracked the latest information on dependence, withdrawal, PSSD and related problems, desperate people have increasingly reached out to it and davidhealy.org asking for input as they are about to commit suicide. There have been up to 50 requests per week, perhaps partly because there has often been a response. This cannot be sustained.
If you have a query about a clinical condition, filing a RxISK report can help you by giving you a score that tells you something about a possible link to treatment. It can also help others. If there is something in your report we spot that we can help with, or you can help further with by giving a fuller report, we will get back to you.
If you have simply gone to the contact us form on RxISK or DH without filing a RxISK report and without reading any RxISK posts on the condition you think you have, because of the volume of reports coming in it is increasingly likely we will not respond.
If you are emailing about PSSD, we want to hear about research you’ve done. Our PSSD page lists some resources and we are committed to providing the latest information on anything we know in posts on RxISK. There is no information we are withholding or people we know who can treat this problem, and as a result we don’t do consults (or take your money off you) for this. Please keep on eye on posts for updates.
If you are emailing about dependence and withdrawal, we are interested in any discoveries you have made. We are committed to providing the latest information on anything we know in posts on RxISK. There is nothing we know about what causes dependence and withdrawal or how to successfully treat difficult cases other than what is in posts, so please keep an eye on posts.
We hope at some point to run a Reducing Medication Burden clinic but do not do so at present.
